Muse

I remember a lazy late afternoon
When we laid side by side listening to our favourite songs
I have always been a sucker for singer song writers and rock stars
And I wondered aloud that I'd make an awesome girlfriend for them

I told you why I'd have a stormy relationship with Morrissey
Or how I'd be Robert Smith's greatest love
Matt Bellamy will be so besotted by me
Brandon Flowers will die if I ever leave him
And Kurt Cobain would still be alive if he was with me

You listened quietly as I went on and on with my wishful thinkings
Sometimes kissing me
Sometimes smiling with amusement
Your fingers running continuously through my hair

I asked you if I'm cut out for the rock and roll lifestyle
And you said I'd be a dream on the tour bus
I laughed and said, 'tell me, what is going through your head right now?'
And you said, "hmmm, I wonder if you know, you're the reason I write these days?"

And I needed those fantasies no more
Whatever I wanted to be, I already am
On that lazy late afternoon
When we laid side by side listening to our favourite songs
